He also owned several nightclubs and bars. He was also a real estate investor. He is survived by his wife Rebecca Asher and ten grandchildren.

He is a former member of Choate’s Executive Committee. He received his JD from Harvard Law School in 1974 and his BA from Harvard College in 1970.
